River Guardian Foundation

Group Description

Let's have some fun and learn about water quality and how we can protect it at the same time!  Through our monthly meetings and occasional outings to some of our vast natural resources we'll provide opportunities for youth and adults to learn about our watersheds and experience the outdoors. Want to help with a Falls Lake cleanup or learn how to be one of our Stream Team volunteers?  You're at the right meetup group!

Our guest speakers will include members of the scientific community, educators, advocates from other environmental non-profit organizations, representatives from government agencies and maybe even a few local celebrities who have interesting stories to share about the outdoors.  We meet on the last Wednesday evening of the month at 6:30PM at varying locations.  Watch the announcements and email updates for meeting topic and location.

The mission statement for the River Guardian Foundation is "The River Guardian Foundation will set the standard for safeguarding our lakes, rivers, and streams for present and future generations of people and wildlife. By forging partnerships, creating a strong sense of community stewardship, and building strong advocacy, research, education, and monitoring programs, we will insure pure, clean water for drinking, fishing and recreation."

Come on board and help us fulfill our mission together!
